Casi Casi Movie Review

Casi Casi Movie Review

Luke Schultz

Casi Casi is a foreign movie filmed at a Puerto Rican School. Emilio and his friends: Maria, Angel, Monica, Alfredo and Natalia, try to convince or trick Emilio’s crush, Jacklynne, into liking him. Emilio tries to run for class president thinking this will impress Jacklnne. While this plan is brilliant and well thought out, he soon finds out he is running against his crush Jacklynne. The only reason Emilio ran in the first place was to impress his crush. He created a mischievous plan of hacking into the voting boards changing up the results so that jacklynne would definitely win. This all occurs will Principal Richardson is on the hunt for these kids because the kids are trouble makers. While this movie seems silly at first, or childish its shows a real romantic side of Emilio. It shows the strong friendship of his friends, helping Emilio do whatever he can to impress his crush. Because the Principal is a real strict, rude, kind of lady it puts an unpredictable spin on the movie. It gives the viewers a “butterfly” feeling in there stomach. It makes the viewers want to jump into the movie and grab the characters to make sure they don’t get in trouble. As viewers we know more than the actors or characters in the movie. This is a very good use of irony. In the end, the principal never knew about the change of the voting, Emilio told Jacklynne what he did, she thought he was a moron. Emilio saw Jacklynne’s true side and realized he didn’t need her in his life. The funny, spontaneous, and outgoing actions of the actors really made the movie enjoyable to sit and watch. The camera men took great shots, showing only some of the shot so we couldn’t see everything that was happening until the next shot. For watching a foreign movie I really enjoyed it.

Second News Cast

Our second news cast was better all around then our first. The camera people did a better job focusing on the anchors, zooming smoother, and doing better on their cue. the anchors stayed in there shot. I kept my elbow out of Laura's shot and kept my head up when reading. I was able to memorize my lines better. One thing the anchors could have changed including me, was going over there lines better to help pronunciate the words better. The cuts from shot to shot from the studio room could be a little better and make sure we don't cut out our anchors lines. We had a few minor mistakes, but other than that we did a very well job.
